Randy Rhoads fans, here’s some unseen video footage that recently surfaced. As a huge Randy Rhoads’ fan, whenever some unseen audio or video is discovered, it’s like finding the Holy Grail. And so it is, apparently, with the below video of Randy Rhoads performing an extended (7:50) solo from 1979 with his former band, Quiet Riot.
The Video was shot at the Starwood Club in West Hollywood, California (the same venue that Eddie Van Halen was packing when they scored their record deal two years earlier), the video is a treasure for us Randy Rhoads fans as it’s over seven full minutes of nothing but spectacular guitar soloing.
Portions of this performance (from 25 October 1979) have been circulated previously, but according to Randy Rhoads’ aficionados, this is the first time that the extended solo has ever been seen. Interestingly, it captures the guitarist in what would be one of his last appearances with his late rock band, Quiet Riot – before long, he would be in the UK recording ‘Blizzard Of Ozz‘ with rock legend, Ozzy Osbourne.
