The Ibanez PGM series is celebrating its 20th year. It’s no surprise, given that Paul Gilbert has long been a master of the instrument and gained respect from musicians and fans all over the world. Ibanez celebrates this milestone with two new 20th anniversary models.
Ibanez PGM100RE
The traditional neck joint has a metal plate with 4 screws, yet the tilt joint still offers easy upper fret access. Paul likes this original neck joint for its tonal characteristics, and it can be found on the latest PGM401 model. Dimarzio PAF-Pro Humbuckers and a true single coil FS-1 are the mighty combination for Paul’s searing, shredding and even crystal clear tone. All can be dialed in with the Ibanez Sprit-5 switching system. The legendary original Edge Tremolo bridge was one of the most reliable double-locking systems for 80’s shred guitarists. Paul was a heavy whammy user in that period.
Ibanez PGM300RE
Coming this Fall. The All Access Neck Joint System on the PGM300RE offers Paul (with his large hand) unlimited upper fret access. Dimarzio PAF-Pro Humbuckers and a true single coil FS-1 are the mighty combination for Paul’s searing, shredding and even crystal clear tone. All can be dialed in with the Ibanez Sprit-5 switching system. The original Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo keeps Paul in tune, even when things get wild on stage.
