Using your credit card through PayPal incurs a 3% charge to the seller. Most sellers anticipate this fee prior to listing, thus forcing the seller to raise their buy it now or shipping estimate to cover this 3% charge. In the end, it's the buyer paying the 3% credit card charge.

Here is a link that states the max charge when using an echeck is $5. This is great news for the buyers who make high dollar purchases such as Guitar amps, Mesa amps, Fenders guitars, Gibson, PRS guitars, and etc. -- And you're still have the safety insurance from PayPal.

--Buyers, if you know your payment is echeck, don't be afraid to ask the seller to discount the item 3%.  I'm almost 100% sure they would gladly accept.--

Here's the quote:

Fees for receiving eCheck payments will not exceed $5.00 USD per transaction. Sellers can also choose to offer promotional financing terms on PayPal Buyer Credit funded purchases for an additional fee.

The downside about using the echeck method is it takes 3-7 days for the funds to transfer from account to account.  --though this is well worth the wait if we can shed costs and save money!

Buyers are looking for quality gear at the best possible price and sellers are trying to put a little change back into their pocket.  It's win/win --just a little longer wait for both parties.

I hope this helps in the future for those who are not aware.  yes
