Gibson "The Paul" Standard (1978-1982)
During the late 70s gibson les paul standard, custom and deluxe guitars along side fender stratocasters and telecasters were pretty much dominating the market, especially for heavier rock music .
These guitars were great but a little pricy for some , gibson wanted to try a new line of less expensive but good enough to play on stage guitars to commidate
